5 Awesome Photoshoot Ideas and Locations for Seniors in Denver, Colorado

Congratulations! You made it to senior year! All of those tough tests, all-nighters, long papers, and sacrifices have paid off because you are almost done! Now let’s take a moment to breathe and take some sweet photos.

Senior photos are so important to commemorate this moment in your life. It’s a shoot where we can show off your personality, growth, and solidify the memories. Plus, you need something fire for the gram! Am I wrong?

If you’re a senior in Denver, Colorado or the surrounding area, here are some photoshoot ideas for your session!

RiNo Art District

Want to show off your edgy attitude, urban fashion style, or simply your love for art? This is the spot for you! Tons of walls painted by local artists that range from graffiti art, all out murals, patterns, tons of color, and even bold statements that will liven up all your photos.

Some of my personal favorites include:

What I would suggest for your outfits? Jeans (rips a plus!), a statement jacket, Sneakers, and finish the look with some of your favorite accessories (hats, jewelry, pins, patches, etc).

Close by and also noteworthy is the Santa Fe Art District!

Red Rocks

Are you more in touch with nature and the beauty that Colorado so naturally provides? Think about a senior photoshoot with beautiful red rocks and grassy plains! Red Rocks isn’t just a place to do Yoga or catch a concert. It’s also a great backdrop for photoshoots!

What to wear? I think this backdrop is so versatile that you can wear almost anything and look great! But if you want to wear something more formal, flowy, or something with a BoHo vibe, this is definitely a great location. Just remember to be comfortable with the shoes you wear, lot of rocks.

Hudson Gardens

Another spot for those who love nature but with more of a floral, forest vibe. During the fall, the trees are a bright yellow-orange that will bring so much color and fun to your photos. For winter time, it’s a white wonderland! During Spring and Summer, the greens are incredibly vibrant and the flowers in full bloom.

I would definitely suggest wearing something semi-casual to semi-formal. It’s such a gorgeous location, it deserves a nice outfit. Match with the leave colors or keep it neutral with tans, blacks, white, blues, and greens.

Downtown Denver

Another popular location for seniors who are more into the urban vibe is downtown Denver. The city vibes that Denver provides are awesome with modern high towers, unique accents, train stations, and an overall cleaner look than say RiNo which leans more “grungy.” Show off your urban, fashion-forward style or go more classy!

Again, pair a statement piece with jeans, or go all out in a fancy suit or dress!

Something Unique To You

None of these calling out to you in particular? Choose something that reflects your unique personality a little better and choose a location that reflects your hobbies/interests. For example, if you’re a rock climber we can go to the gym or your favorite outdoor climbing spot. If you’re into music, let’s bring your instrument to the stage or outside the performing arts center. If you like soccer or football, let’s head to the fields!

The location options are endless for seniors in Denver, Colorado but in the end my biggest advice is to make sure the overall theme feels right to you!
