5 Reasons Garden of the Gods Is A Great Backdrop For Your Next Photoshoot

If you’re new here, there’s a running joke that Garden of the Gods is JKP headquarters. I’m constantly visiting good ol‘ GoG and Colorado Springs because of this must-see Colorado location. What defines this gorgeous park is the giant orange-red rocks, mountains in the background, trails with heavy greenery, and easy access.

You really can’t go wrong at Garden of the Gods!

1. You’ll Already Want To See This If You’re On Vacay

Colorado is a huge destination for weddings, elopements, vacay, and photoshoots in general! Between the beautiful landscapes and everything Denver has to offer, its no wonder everyone loves coming here! And Garden of the Gods is easily at the top of the tourist destinations in Colorado.

For photoshoots, I don’t really recommend visiting the big rocks themselves though. Instead we’ll take a little detour and visit a scenic lookout nearby (still in the park) that’ll help us take some amazing photos without having to deal with all the tourists. Plus it really is the best view, in my opinion.

If you do, however, want to shoot in the main area of the park, I would definitely book at least two hours. It might as well be a whole other location and time commitment, especially during peak hours.

2. Go On An Adventure, But Without The Sweat

Garden of the Gods is one of the few spots in Colorado that will provide all the best breathtaking views without at least a small hike. So if you want to wear heels, go for it queen!

It’s also a great spot if you’re visiting or not familiar with the area. The signs are everywhere, phone service is guaranteed, and the city is just around the corner. If you’re looking for convenience, GoG is sure to provide some peace of mind.

3. Avoid permit fees!

Luckily there are no special permits or fees to shoot at Garden of the Gods, even for an elopement! Use that extra money in your budget towards a video, extra outfit, or just a post-shoot date night.

So what are you waiting for? Let’s hop in the car and race to GoG!

Good vibes are my number one priority! No stress allowed! Gorgeous pics only. And nobody really does it like Jas.

So let’s make it happen!
