A Magical Queer Wedding | Hotel Luna Mystica, Taos, New Mexico
Cosmic. “Sarah and Becca’s connection is cosmic.” I’m seriously trying not to shed a tear as I lift my eye back to the camera viewfinder and capture the speech being made. All the while I’m thinking about how special I would feel if my best friends were to describe my relationship as one so perfect, it could have only been written by the universe herself.
Since the night of Sarah & Becca’s wedding I think I’ve told that story at least ten times. And it’s only been like a month. It’s just stuck with me all this time, because after spending the weekend with them, I couldn’t think of any better way to describe their love for each other. The way they move in sync, the smiles across the room, and the pure joy as they celebrated their commitment under the desert moon, made their connection undeniable and almost too perfect for this world.
You might think I’m exaggerating but me and at least one hundred other witnesses can attest. These two will take any obstacle and love every minute, as long as they’re together. During their ceremony there was a little wind and rain, then an audio issue, but then just them two cheesin at each other with the bright New Mexico sun. And as the universe intended, a flock of birds flew by and a rainbow appeared. (See pics!!)
In moments like these, I can’t help but feel an overwhelming amount of honor to be apart of these stories. Sure I love this career because I need to pay rent, but man is this feeling priceless.
I’m so grateful to S + B for choosing me to document their wedding weekend in Taos, New Mexico. This small quirky city was the perfect backdrop that made this wedding, feel like a unique and edgy elopement. The ceremony and festivities were hosted by Hotel Luna Mystica featuring its array of vintage airstreams-turned hotel rooms. I would highly recommend New Mexico for all the lovers still looking for a modern venue with those classic and rustic touches. I can’t wait to be back!
